Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to provide an update on my campaign for Judge. You may recall that I am running for Judge R. Scott Krichbaum’s seat in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas in 2026. The past year has been both exciting and rewarding as I’ve continued meeting with members of the community, and sharing my background and experience. As our campaign continues to grow, I want to take a moment to share more about the experience and values that drive me each day.
For twenty (20) years, I have dedicated my legal career to serving the people of our community—both in and out of the courtroom. My work has taken me to both sides of the legal system, giving me the well-rounded perspective that justice demands. As a Prosecuting Attorney, I have fought to protect victims and uphold the law. As a Defense Attorney, I have stood beside individuals who have needed their voices heard and their Constitutional rights defended. These experiences have given me a deep respect for fairness, due process, and the responsibility every Judge carries to always be able to do the right thing and uphold the law.
Beyond the courtroom, I take the greatest pride in my family and being a part of this community. I’ve raised my family here, served alongside neighbors, and shared in the challenges and triumphs that make our area special. The values I will bring to the bench integrity, balance, and commitment to justice come directly from the people and families I’ve had the honor to serve.
As this campaign moves forward, I remain focused on one clear goal: ensuring that our court is fair, efficient, and compassionate for everyone who walks through the door.
Thank you for your continued support, your encouragement, and your belief in the importance of honesty, integrity, experience, and community in our justice system. Together, we can ensure that our courts reflect the values that make our community strong.
Sincerely,
Ross Smith
